1. Boil the Pasta
Fill a large pot with water, add a pinch of salt, and bring it to a boil. Add pasta and cook until al dente, about 8 minutes.
2. Drain and Prep
Drain the pasta using a colander. Shake off excess water but don’t rinse the pasta – you want it to keep some of that starchy goodness. Avoid rinsing to keep the pasta’s natural starch, which helps the pesto sauce stick better later on. Once drained, it’s ready to be mixed with pesto in the next step!
3. Toss with Pesto
Place the drained pasta in a large mixing bowl. Add the fresh basil pesto and toss everything together using tongs or a fork until well-coated.
4. Add Parmesan and Season
Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta, and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Add cherry tomatoes if you like an extra pop of color and flavor.
5. Serve and Enjoy
Divide into bowls and serve hot. Top with more Parmesan if you’re feeling extra cheesy. Enjoy your delicious Easy Pesto Pasta!
