Ingredients

Ingredients 🥚🍬

  • 1 Cup Sugar for caramel
  • 1 Can Sweetened Condensed Milk 400g
  • 1 Can Evaporated Milk 400g
  • 4 Large Eggs
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Salt

Instructions

Instructions 📋

  • Make the Caramel 🍮
  • In a heavy-bottomed pan, heat 1 Cup Sugar over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Once it melts into a smooth, golden liquid, carefully pour it into a round baking dish to coat the bottom evenly. Set aside to cool.
  • Prepare the Custard 🥚
  • In a blender, mix Sweetened Condensed Milk, Evaporated Milk, Eggs, Vanilla Extract, and Salt until smooth.
Blend it for about 20-30 seconds, making sure the eggs are well incorporated.
  • Combine and Bake 🔥
  • Pour the custard mixture over the cooled caramel in the baking dish.
Cover it with aluminum foil and place the dish in a larger baking pan filled halfway with warm water.
Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 1 hour or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool and Chill ❄️
  • Remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Then, refrigerate it for at least 4 hours or overnight for the best texture.
  • Serve and Enjoy 🍽️
  • To serve, run a knife around the edges to loosen the flan.
Place a plate over the dish and carefully flip it over. Lift the dish slowly, letting the caramel drizzle over the flan.
    Slice and enjoy!

Tips 💡

  • Low-Sugar Option: Swap some sugar with a sugar substitute if you’re watching your intake.
  • Flavor Twist: Add a teaspoon of coffee extract for a mocha-flavored flan.
  • Extra Creamy: Use half-and-half in place of evaporated milk for a richer texture.
